Sector: Retail / Travel
Region: United States
ERP: Oracle Retail MOM, ReSA & SIM
Scope: Core tables (100+), integrations, data migration, validations
At a Glance
- Critical rollbacks: 0
- Reconciliation coverage: 100% (in-scope)
- Lead-time reduction: −80–90% vs baseline
- Validations per cycle: 100M+
Challenge
A US-based duty-free retailer operating more than 280 stores needed to manage a five-version upgrade across Oracle Retail MOM, ReSA and SIM. Data coherence, dependency management and cutover stability were key risks, and delivery had to be fully remote with zero tolerance for disruption.
Approach (Assess → Stabilise → Prototype → Migrate → Verify)
elfware applied its Enterprise Low-Code migration framework to accelerate source-to-target mapping, enforce orchestration control and automate validation at scale. Automated reconciliation, integrity and API tests were introduced from the first prototype, moving defect detection and design validation to the earliest stages.
What We Did
- Delivered the first fixed-price data prototype in 3 days, enabling workshops with a complete, coherent MOM dataset.
- Produced six iterative prototypes, including two full dress rehearsals prior to go-live.
- Implemented automated orchestration and integrity checks across batch and API integrations.
- Provided technical support for batch integration design and defect resolution.
Outcomes
- Seamless go-live with a two-week hypercare and zero instability.
- Audit-ready reconciliation for all in-scope entities with 0 rollbacks.
- Validation shifted left, reducing rework and saving substantial programme time.
- Delivery executed entirely remotely by elfware teams in Australia and the UK.
Manual development avoided: ~65% via code-printing and pattern reuse
Generated components: mapping templates, reconciliation dashboards, integrity rules, orchestration scripts
Timeline
- Week 1–2: Prototype 80+ key entities
- Week 3–6: Stabilise, evolve with solution design and expand scope
"Seeing our own data flowing through the upgraded Oracle Retail environment within three days changed everything — it turned assumptions into evidence."
