Fiscal Year Variant

Unique technical key representing a fiscal year structure with defined regular and special periods. Used in company code configuration to control posting period logic.

This flag determines if the fiscal year aligns exactly with the calendar year (January to December). If 'X', SAP derives period start/end dates based on calendar months. If blank, custom period definitions are required.

This flag determines if the mapping of periods to calendar dates can vary from one year to the next. 'X' indicates that the period definition must be maintained individually for each fiscal year, requiring entries in T009B. Blank means period definitions are consistent across all years.

Represents the standard number of accounting periods available for regular financial transactions within a fiscal year, before any special adjustment periods.

These are additional periods beyond the normal posting periods, reserved for year-end closing activities, audits, and adjustments. They are usually posted after the last normal period but logically belong to the same fiscal year.
